Matthews Body Shop was founded in 1953 by Bud Matthews. In 1960, the shop
moved to the current building to handle the growing work load. As time
went on the shop size was increased to allow for more employees. July
of 2015 Bud & Carolyn Matthews decided after 62 years of service to retire.

August 2015 ownership of the shop changed to Allen and Michelle Pope,
both natives of Durham, N.C. Allen has been in the collision repair business
for 20 + years working with several different shops in the Raleigh/Durham
market. Michelle also has strong community ties with her grandmother owning
The Grove Cafe, which is located on property adjacent to Matthews Body
        Shop.

Allen and Michelle have a strong desire to continue the long standing
heritage of Matthews Body Shop producing a quality product for their customers
and being a valuable member of the community.
